A peer-reviewed community

Ask real PhDs.
Get real answers.

Every expert on PhD Opinion is verified against the published academic record — by thesis or peer-reviewed authorship. Every public question passes through a human moderation queue before it ever reaches the community. No generative models. No guesswork.

Two populations.
One careful exchange.

Experts and the public enter through different doors. Both are read carefully. Neither talks to the other without passing through a threshold.

Protocol — Experts

Verify. Contribute. Be read.

01

Submit credentials

Provide a PhD thesis reference, a DOI, or an ORCID linked to peer-reviewed work. A human reviewer checks authorship against the public record.

02

Declare your fields

Name the disciplines you actually published in. Your inbox shows only questions inside that scope — nothing off-domain, nothing speculative.

03

Answer on your terms

Pick questions that interest you. Write when time permits. No quotas, no gamification, no push notifications.

Protocol — Public

Ask. Wait. Receive insight.

01

Submit a question

Describe what you actually want to know. Specific questions outperform broad ones; context improves the answer you get back.

02

Moderation review

Every submission is read by a human moderator. Bait, trolling, and out-of-scope questions never reach the verified community.

03

Published & answered

Approved questions are routed to PhDs in the relevant discipline. You're notified when one of them weighs in.

Credentials checked
against the record.

A PhD badge on this platform carries weight because we refuse to hand it out casually. Verification is a manual step, performed by a person.

01 — Doctoral record

PhD thesis

Authorship confirmed through the issuing institution's dissertation repository, ProQuest, or equivalent. The thesis must be locatable in the public record.

02 — Indexed output

Peer-reviewed work

Verified via DOI and ORCID. First, corresponding, or contributing authorship on at least one indexed publication in a recognized journal.

03 — Human review

Manual assessment

Applications are evaluated by a person, not an algorithm. Claims that cannot be substantiated against the public record are declined.

04 — Field scope

Discipline binding

Verification binds the member to their discipline. Expertise in one field does not confer authority to answer in another.

Disciplines covered.

A partial index of the fields represented on the platform. Every entry is staffed by members whose authorship is indexed in that discipline.

Three lines not crossed.

The platform is defined as much by what we refuse as by what we accept. These are non-negotiable.

I.

No generative AI output.

Every answer originates from a verified human expert. Machine-generated and synthesized responses are actively screened and excluded without exception.

II.

No unmoderated noise.

Public submissions pass through a human queue. Low-effort, bait, and spam are filtered before the community sees them. Members' time is treated as finite.

III.

No uncorroborated claims.

Every member has a verifiable paper trail. Credentials that cannot be substantiated against the public record are declined — without appeal, without exception.
